📌How to Use Storytelling to Elevate Your Business

once upon a time...

Hey Biz Starter!

Can you believe it's already July?

I’ve tried something different going into the second half of this year.

I’m sharing more…more authentic stories and experiences with my audience, leads, and customers.

On LinkedIn, I received one of the biggest compliments ever about my content and storytelling:

I know you’re thinking…”Sherry, I don’t want to share my personal life in my content.”

I get it. You don’t have to.

What you can do is share your real-life experiences…this is how people learn more about you and how you work, building trust and credibility.

For example, I never share my daughter’s picture online. NEVER.

Some things…and you can decide what that is for you..are just too sacred.

My daughter is a new teenager, and she can decide later when she’s older if she wants her pictures online.

Storytelling is a great way to connect with your followers on social media.

Plus, it curbs your need to sell, sell, sell. Something that is a definite turnoff.

Instead, you build a strong brand and make meaningful connections.

Here are some quick storytelling tips:

1. Be real with your audience. Share your story and why you started your business. This helps people relate to you and builds trust.

2. Stir emotions with your stories. Stories can make people feel something. By sharing personal experiences, you can make your brand more memorable.

3. Share your values and expertise. Use stories to talk about what your brand stands for. When you share your values, people are more likely to support you. Share stories showing your knowledge. This helps establish you as an expert and gain trust.

4. Encourage interaction in the comments. Good stories can start conversations on social media. Encourage your followers to share their own stories too.

5. Make your brand human…by being human. Stories give your brand a personal touch. They make you more relatable to your audience. Creating engaging narratives can make your brand stand out and be talked about more.

Using storytelling in your social media plan lets you connect better with your audience, increase engagement, and make your brand more unique.

This week, we examine how storytelling might work in your business!
