❌Stop Worrying About Fitting In As a Coach
...how to avoid being a copycat coach
Hello Biz Starters!
You know that feeling when you think you can add one more thing to your plate? You do…then you regret it.
That’s been me since our last issue as I write this newsletter.
April was exciting and busy, but I’m glad we’re getting deeper into the spring season. Thank goodness May is here! 😊
April was dedicated to wrapping up projects, onboarding new clients, creating a new workshop, and making minor tweaks in branding…all in the name of being different from competitors.
As a coach, standing out in a busy market takes MacGuyver moves.
Think about it.
How many coaches or service providers are in your niche?
If you’re finding it difficult to stand out and get noticed, my best advice is— don't be a replica of your competitors; instead, create your own roadmap.
One way to do this is to offer unique services or products that address specific needs in your market. For example, if everyone gives free discovery or strategy sessions, you could set yourself apart by offering a paid, personalized session beyond just a qualifying discovery and Q&A call.
“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment." - Ralph Waldo Emerson
Another way to make yourself stand out is to do something else. For example, lean on your authority instead of focusing on follow-up, follow-up, and nurturing leads for months.
I created a Client Attraction Strategy Review for a client tired of the follow-up hamster wheel and felt her leads did not respect her. Now, new paying clients reach out to her out of nowhere because of one thing: Authority. It's about saying the right things at the right time to get the right people to show up.
Not every coach does this; it makes a huge difference in standing apart from your competitors. Here’s how you can avoid being a copycat coach.
