Your Business Shouldn’t Break When You Rest

“If your business stops when you rest, it’s not a business, it’s a job.”

I used to believe slowing down meant falling behind. That if I wasn’t posting, pushing, or producing something 24/7, my business would grind to a halt. And if I’m being honest, that fear kept me stuck in hustle mode far longer than I should’ve been.

If your business falls apart when you take a break… you don’t have a business. You have a job you built for yourself. And probably one that pays less and demands more than the one you left.

I see this happen a lot and honestly, I’ve done it too. We build these amazing offers, then trap ourselves inside them because nothing works without us. That’s not freedom. That’s burnout dressed up as success.

So this year, I decided December looks different. I’m giving my team the entire month off. No launches. No scrambling. No glorifying busy. But here’s the twist — revenue will still come in. Because I’ve built systems that work even when I don’t.

Here’s your tough love moment: if stepping back means your income stops, it’s time to stop calling it a business and start building one.

What Working Smarter Really Means
Working smarter is about designing your business so that it keeps moving even when you’re not in the room. That means:
