It’s almost summer! Can you believe we’ve almost made it through half the year?

I’m looking forward to taking the rest of May off to finish preparing our home for a new puppy. We’ve adopted dogs for years, but I look forward to having a puppy.

My favorite part is the planning and having a countdown to his arrival. This got me thinking about the importance of giving your offers a deadline.

Countdown counters can split opinions, some adore while others detest. Is it necessary to stir such strong feelings?

But a lot of marketers worry that urgency = ick.

And sure, it can.

Fake countdown timers, unfulfilled promises, and pretend-limited spaces for digital products are all a bit... icky—yes!

However, a clear and fair deadline for accessing a discount or bonus will benefit your potential customers.

It creates a window of opportunity.

But whether you're in camp, yay or nay, there's no doubt that urgency works.

I just read a case study where urgency increased conversions by 332%!

That’s right.

Countdown timers can help avoid this decision fatigue and prevent your ideal customers from missing out.

That's why I love a deadline and am usually relieved to find one - in fact, I rarely buy anything without some urgency! ⏳

Have you ever debated a decision so long that it starts to hang over you like a dark cloud?

Or thought, 'I'll come back to this later,' only to forget and miss out?

I know I have!

I think it's really important to remember that even if you don't like countdown timers, there are probably just as many people in your audience that DO - maybe even more!
