How to Bounce Back When Things Don't Go As Planned

Is your mind being invaded by negative thoughts? Is your self-talk preventing growth and destroying your sleep, peace, and happiness?
Last summer, I hit a frustrating point in my second business. I was unsure if I wanted to expand it into two additional states. Fortunately, I caught up with an old friend I’ve known for 21 years when we were both working day and night to grow our business; she is a pivotal friend and mentor.
We had a deep conversation about the lowest moments in our businesses over the years, the lessons we learned, and the tools we used to overcome them.
I ended up traveling ✈️ across the U.S. to check for myself the pulse of the market before making a final decision after our chat.
It's easy to put on a brave face and pretend everything is okay, but talking to someone you trust about your struggles provides support and a fresh point of view.
If you're going through a tough time in your business, know you're not alone. Reach out to your support system, and have someone (friend, mentor, coach) who can provide a different perspective. Then take a moment of stillness and think deeply before reacting.
There will be highs and lows, successes and failures. And it's during those low moments when having the right tools and support can make all the difference.
I want to share two things I found invaluable during the difficult times I experienced.
First, get a mentor you can be transparent with, and whom you look up to who is where you want to be in your business.
Don't be afraid to reach out to someone you admire and trust and ask them to be your sounding board.
Second, get someone (a partner or friend) who can be honest with you and call you out when needed. This person can help pull you out of a low point and change your mindset by telling you what you need to hear rather than what you want.
This week we focus on reaching success in your business and letting go of the negative mindsets holding you back.
