Here's how you can build a business that sets goals for success

I've been hearing lots of people saying "๐‘กโ„Ž๐‘’๐‘ฆ ๐‘Ž๐‘Ÿ๐‘’ ๐‘”๐‘œ๐‘–๐‘›๐‘” ๐‘ก๐‘œ ๐‘”๐‘œ ๐‘“๐‘ข๐‘™๐‘™ ๐‘๐‘™๐‘Ž๐‘ ๐‘ก ๐‘–๐‘› ๐ฝ๐‘Ž๐‘›๐‘ข๐‘Ž๐‘Ÿ๐‘ฆ ๐‘Ž๐‘›๐‘‘ ๐‘”๐‘œ ๐‘Ž๐‘™๐‘™ ๐‘–๐‘›." While having goals are great, try spreading those out over the year.

It's like starting a diet & going hard in the gym in January.

Most people fizzle out by March. Right!?

If you don't believe me, ask anyone who owns a gym about when they sell the most gym memberships.

I know this first hand. As I'm planning all my content marketing, webinars, campaigns, launches, etc. for 2022 and looking back on some things I did in June or July, thinking "๐‘คโ„Ž๐‘Ž๐‘ก ๐‘–๐‘› ๐‘กโ„Ž๐‘’ ๐‘ค๐‘œ๐‘Ÿ๐‘™๐‘‘ ๐‘ค๐‘Ž๐‘  ๐ผ ๐‘กโ„Ž๐‘–๐‘›๐‘˜๐‘–๐‘›๐‘”".

Planning is everything. Pace yourself๐Ÿšถ๐Ÿพโ€โ™€๏ธand execute.

Then plan and execute some more so you can consistently flourish all year.

One common goal that is trending, and for good reason, is networking. No one can have success in a vacuum. Networking is that all-important ingredient to your success.

Selfless Networking Builds Businesses

Creating a solid business network full of rewarding partnerships does not have to be challenging. All it takes is a bit of planning and organizing. After you take your first steps to implement your power networking plan, you will quickly see your dedication to building solid networks toward your business goals. Here are five secrets to building the right network to make business networking a win-win for everyone.

Share Your Story...Tell Your Truth

This year try something different. Try sharing your story, there are people who want to learn how you made it to where you are today. Storytelling is an incredibly important skill for power networking. If you can tell a good story, it not only clearly conveys who you are, but also makes you more relatable, trustworthy, and memorable. Here are some ways you can create a story to use in your networking efforts.

Whatโ€™s your story?

Incorporate highlights of the story of your business into your content to encourage and inspire people.

Go over every area of your business and look for stories waiting to be told. The best times to write stories are when there has been a big change. This includes not only how you founded your business, but how it grew, faced a challenge in the market, developed a new product line, and so on.

If you take some time to write out and plan your stories, youโ€™ll have the chance to flesh them out and improve them. Be truthful and try to make them humorous, engaging, and relatable. Also, try to write them in such a way that they focus on the unique benefits you offer.

What I'm Reading

I stumbled upon a great booklist for entrepreneurs. My selections included The Lean Startup, Good to Great, and Marketing Made Simple. I read Good to Great years ago in graduate school, so I'll circle back to that one. Now I'm working on They Ask You Answer, by Marcus Sheridan and enjoying every page of his simple but effective approach to marketing. That's all I'll include....no spoiler alert here ๐Ÿ˜‰. Check out the full list below.
