Hi There!

It’s October. Do you have your holiday campaigns planned and ready to launch?

It’s time to get knee-deep in Cyber Week prep so that by the time Thanksgiving week is here (honestly, by the time mid-November rolls around), you've got everything set & scheduled, and you can RELAX and enjoy your turkey or tofu!

Some entrepreneurs, especially service providers think Black Friday and holiday sales are not for their business.—not true!

Research shows people are in more of a buying mood during this time of year. This means you’re more likely to have successful holiday sales if you give it a little effort.

Now let’s get into this week’s tips, ideas, and resources!

Something Big For Your Business!

There are dozens of options to boost your business revenue with holiday promotions. Here are five strategies that have worked well for my businesses as well as for my clients. See which may work for your business.

1. Build a landing/product page specifically for your holiday sales.

Focus the branding colors on reflecting the holiday mood so your audience knows this is a holiday sale. Use eye-catching call-to-actions, pop-ups, and alert bars. Once they purchase, make sure to lay out the red carpet for your customers. Discover how to turn these holiday sales into loyal, repeat customers with customer onboarding.

2. Create a holiday sale email marketing campaign.

Decide what your campaign will promote (services, specific products, group specials, etc.). A winning holiday email campaign includes a series of well-designed and targeted emails for your audience. For example, the welcome email, the informational email, the promotional email, and the product/service benefits email, are must-haves. Customize email subject lines with attention grabbers like Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Holiday, etc. Start sending your email campaign at least two weeks before your sale begins.

3. Add opportunities to cross-sell and upsell.

It’s the holidays, and people are looking for the chance to save money. Cross-sells and upsells are perfect for this. If you’re unsure how to add cross-sells and upsells to your sales funnel, grab my complimentary sales funnel worksheet. Consider offering additional services, a product bundle, or a discount on a premium package.

4. Create Urgency. If it is indeed a holiday sale, then it will end. Add deadlines to your offers and remind your audience of the time sensitivity of your offers. This is true for services and products. Last year I worked with a client who gave a discount on her coaching package; the customer had to purchase it during Cyber Monday and schedule sessions before mid-January. Talk about being specific! The goal was to avoid having unused paid sessions out there forever. This attracts clients who want to take action now rather than waiting, risking procrastination--or worse changing their minds later. This reduced refund requests to $0.

5. Go big or go home. Give your audience and customers the chance to buy the one thing they’ve always wanted but was too expensive. Pick one product or service that is not as popular as the others and offer a huge discount. For example, for my other business, I created a 50% off sale last year on a $200 licensing course that hardly ever sold. I promoted it with a holiday sale email campaign and sold 61 courses over a two-week period. The sales totaled $6,100 for one course I created the year prior and had only sold 12 before this holiday promotion. I wrote seven emails and one sales page, recorded two short promo videos, and clicked "go live" on the automation. That’s it!

You don't need to give a discount for your holiday promotions. You can create a discount-free promo. Truly, your Black Friday offer can be the beginning of something big for your business – not just a one-off sale...

If any of these made you sit up a little straighter and you get stuck creating your irresistible holiday promo, let's chat for a quick walk-through of how to make it happen for your business.
