Use AI to save time, but keep the moments only you can deliver.

You’ve probably noticed it: everyone’s whispering (or shouting) about AI. In fact, over 65% of coaches and service pros say they’re already testing AI tools to cut down admin, content, or client prep. Not bad for something most of us thought was sci-fi just a couple years ago.
One of my local clients, a family attorney here in Maryland, admitted she was drowning in intake paperwork and follow-up emails. We set her up with an AI system to handle the first round of client questions. Within two weeks, she went from spending 10+ hours a week glued to her inbox to just a quick daily review. Her response? “I feel like I finally hired the assistant I kept saying I’d get around to.”
That’s the tension every professional feels right now: AI can be the ultimate shortcut… but is it the right one?
Where AI Works Like Magic
Admin clean-up: Intake forms, scheduling, reminders — the stuff that eats hours but doesn’t pay the bills.
Content “drafts”: Blogs, posts, and emails. AI gives you a messy first draft so you can polish instead of starting from scratch.
Client prep: Quick summaries of past sessions or case notes so you walk into meetings sharp.
Where AI Backfires
Coaching moments: No algorithm can replace empathy, intuition, or tough love at the right time.
Trust building: Clients want you, not a robot. If they sense canned responses, you’ll lose them.
Over-automation: Just because AI can do it, doesn’t mean it should. If it feels lazy, it probably is.
The shortcut is real, but it only works if you use AI to clear space for the work only you can do.
So here’s my challenge to you:
This week, pick one task you secretly hate (the inbox monster, endless drafting, client reminders) and hand it off to AI.
If it saves you even an hour, you’ve just bought yourself an extra coaching session, family dinner, or Netflix night guilt-free.
